The Altima has served as Nissan’s best-selling sedan ever and has been named “Best Cars for Teens” in the category of $30,000 to $35,000 by the U.S. News & World Report. The award is given to vehicles that are determined to have the best combination of crash test scores, reliability ratings, available advanced driver assistance features, and top critics’ recommendations. The 2021 Nissan Altima was awarded due to its available features such as Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as ProPilot Assist and Safety Shield. The 2021 Altima has served as Nissan’s favorite family vehicle since 1993 and continues to serve families for generations.
“The winners of the Best Cars for Teens awards all have active safety features that can help teens safely develop their driving skills while lowering the risk that they’ll be involved in a collision,” said Jamie Page Deaton, executive editor of U.S. News Best Cars. “The winners also have strong crash test ratings, so if a collision occurs, there’s a better chance of occupants being protected.”
The 2021 Nissan Altima standard level trims come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission. The engine is capable of producing 188-horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The next available upgrade is an available turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out a hefty 248 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The final option for the 2021 Altima is an all-new 2.5-liter VC-Turbo engine with new technology that constantly adapts, raising or lowering the pistons’ reach seamlessly, variably, and continuously, providing an equal balance between power and efficiency regardless of the situation. Nissan engineers have been working on the VC-Turbo engine for the past two decades ultimately creating the world’s first production variable compression turbo engine.
Inside the 2021 Nissan Altima, buyers will find an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability standard on all trims. The 2021 Altima places driver safety first, with available safety features including Blind Spot Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, ProPILOT Assist, and much more. Drivers can feel safer on the road knowing the vehicle can automatically stop in any case of pedestrian detection or in case of an unexpected accident. On top of that Nissan also offers Nissan Safety Shield 360 standard on all vehicles, which uses cameras, sonar, and radar technology to create a complete net around the vehicle. Warning drivers of what’s around them so they can keep their focus on the road.
