Nissan continues to advance the company’s commitment to driving sustainable mobility and tackling climate change. In line with the long-term Ambition 2030 vision, the company has appointed Trisha Jung as senior director of electric vehicle strategy and transformation in the US market. This appointment is a clear example of Nissan’s commitment to electrification and sustainability strategy. Trisha Jung’s appointment comes at a time when the automotive industry is undergoing a rapid transformation toward electrification and sustainable mobility. Nissan’s Ambition 2030 vision, launched in 2018, sets a goal of selling one million electric vehicles per year by 2022 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. After Jung’s appointment, Nissan is looking to lead the industry’s transformation towards sustainable mobility in the US market.
Jung is a highly experienced automotive professional with an extensive track record in developing electrification and sustainable mobility strategies. Previously, she worked in Ford’s electric vehicle division, where she led the launch of new electric vehicle models. With that experience Jung takes the lead in the new group established by Nissan to deliver on the company’s electrification goals and contribute to building a more sustainable future. Jung’s appointment is just one of many initiatives by Nissan to promote sustainable mobility and tackle climate change. The company released several electric vehicles, including the Nissan LEAF, the world’s first 100% electric car to be mass-produced, and all-new 2023 Nissan Ariya, Nissan’s new electric vehicle model that will set the template for all electric vehicles to come. Nissan also focuses on smart charging solutions and the integration of autonomous vehicle technology.
“Trisha has extensive experience in the automotive industry and a deep understanding of the electric vehicle market that will be invaluable to this position,” said Mike Colleran, senior vice president of US marketing and sales, Nissan USA Transformation.
Nissan is also working closely with other companies and organizations to advance sustainable mobility. The automaker has partnered with Renault and Mitsubishi to collaborate on the development of electric vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions. Nissan is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Transport Initiative (STI), focused on addressing global sustainable mobility challenges. The appointment of Trisha Jung as senior director of electric vehicle strategy and transformation in the key U.S. market is a move in the right direction.
