Nissan’s prime concern has always been the safety and livelihood of the people. Nissan has created a 2.7 million U.S. dollars fund called Nissan Cares Fund that will support the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. This will support the people of Ukraine as well as helping affected employees and their families. Nissan will provide financial stability and ongoing support for those Nissan employees and their families that are being affected and impacted by this crisis. It’s tailored to help in arrays of situations such as relocation costs, living expenses for displaced families, medical expenses, special assistance for children, and even donating vehicles.
“We have all been moved by the suffering of so many people and families – including members of our own Nissan family. We have created the Nissan Cares fund to stand by our employees, and to support the international efforts working around the clock to respond to this immeasurable human tragedy.” Stated by Nissan CEO, Makoto Uchida.
Nissan Cares Fund will donate 1 million US dollars to the Red Cross and other non-profit organizations to support emergency activities that contribute lifesaving assistance and needed supplies for families and children during this time. Nissan is also encouraging other employees and partners to help contribute to Nissan Cares Fund either through monetary donations or any goods that will support the people of Ukraine.
Nissan has decided to suspend export of vehicles to Russia and foresee that production will end soon at the St. Petersburg plant due to component shortages. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is causing ripple effects in the automotive supply chain. This has prompted companies to stop shipping to Russia and suspend operations in Ukraine. Many companies are now re-evaluating their business in Russia, with some curtailing their operations or just deciding to leave entirely.
Nissan has vowed to make the world a better and safer place by making a promise to change its lineup to fully electric by 2050 to end carbon emission. Nissan also intends to use as many renewable sources as possible in its manufacturing facilities during the early stages of the process. Nissan’s latest venture is its 2023 fully electric Nissan Ariya.
The 2023 ARIYA includes two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, which will change depending on single motor trims or dual-motor trims. The 2023 ARIYA will set the tone for future electric vehicles with the latest technology and safety features including Nissan Safety Shield® 360, a safety system that consists of various features to keep drivers safe. These features include radar technology, cameras, and sonar that work together to create a safety net to cover all sides of the vehicle. With optional upgrades, Nissan offers the ProPILOT Assist 2.0 which comes with an advanced all-wheel-control technology called e-4ORCE.
The 2023 Nissan ARIYA can produce 215 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque when equipped with a single motor.
