Nissan’s Formula E Team Had A Difficult Time At The São Paulo E-Prix

The Nissan Formula E team had high hopes for the São Paulo E-Prix, but unfortunately, the race did not go as planned. The team faced numerous challenges throughout the race, ultimately resulting in a frustrating finish. Qualifying proved to be difficult for the team, as both drivers struggled to find the pace they needed. Oliver Rowland qualified 18th, while Sébastien Buemi trailed just behind for the 19th position. Despite the challenging qualifying session, both drivers were determined to make up positions in the race. 

The start of the race saw both drivers making good progress, with Rowland gaining several positions and Buemi fighting to make his way through the field. However, their progress was short-lived, as Rowland got struck by another car and was forced to retire from the race. Meanwhile, Buemi was struggling with the balance of his car and was unable to make much progress. The team continued to push, but things got worse as the race progressed. Buemi received a drive-through penalty for an unsafe start during stalling, which further hindered his chances of a good finish. He eventually crossed the finish line in 16th place, a disappointing result for the Swiss driver.  

“It has been a difficult weekend for us. We had problems in qualifying, which set us back from the race. Then we had some bad luck during the race, which hampered our chances. It’s frustrating, but we will regroup and come back stronger for the next race.” Said Team Principal Tommaso Volpe on the frustrations of the race.  

Despite the disappointment of the São Paulo E-Prix, the Nissan Formula E team is determined to bounce back for the next race.
