Nissan is pleased to announce the debut of the Formula E team with the Gen3 car at the Formula E ABB FIA World Championship season 9 test at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, demonstrating once again that the Nissan Formula E team is ready for the inaugural outing with the drivers and Gen3 car. The Nissan Formula E Team is the first to compete in Formula E as a single entity and has just unveiled its striking new livery in Madrid. The Nissan Gen3 that will be tested has a bold design with a cherry tree pattern as a reference to Nissan’s Japanese DNA and represents a new beginning.

The new beginning of the Nissan Formula E Team is marked by the arrival of drivers Norman Nato and Sacha Fenestraz, and the team will participate in the race with a new name in Formula E season 9 for the first time. The combination of experience and youth is what characterizes this new Nissan Formula E team with Formula E race winner Nato and Super Formula runner-up Fenestraz. These great drivers will participate in Formula E season 9 in the #17 and #23 cars. The pre-season testing is the perfect time for the Nissan-powered NEOM Mclaren Formula E team to race in an official Formula E session for the first time. This opportunity comes as Nissan and McLaren have signed a partnership in agreement that commits the British team to use Nissan’s powertrain throughout the Gen3 era. Preseason testing began on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and will end on Dec. 16, leaving Dec. 15 free as a media day with no race scheduled at the track.

“We have been working very hard to be ready for this test and it’s almost here, I’m very excited. It’s a big step in my career and I can’t wait to drive the car in Valencia and see where we are heading into the new season. Mexico is recovering quickly, so we need to stay focused and make sure we are in the best possible position for the first race,” announced Sacha Fenestraz, Super Formula runner-up.

Since its grand opening in 2020, the FIA Formula E World Championship has managed to become the first global sport to achieve official certification with a carbon footprint of 0. This great achievement is thanks to the investment in certified environmental protection projects in all racing-related markets, offsetting the carbon emissions that occurred during the electric racing season. Every vehicle participating in the Formula E world championship is fully electric, creating a perfect competitive platform for testing and developing the latest in electric technology. This great Formula E championship demonstrates the competitive side of the world’s best manufacturers competing against each other on street circuits and promoting the use of electric vehicles in city centers, combating environmental pollution and thus reducing the effects of climate change.
