Nissan has launched a new milestone in its legacy of performance and automotive passion with the arrival of the 2024 Z NISMO. This limited-availability model is now available for enthusiasts with a starting MSRP of $64,990. When it comes to the design of the 2024 Z NISMO, the most significant aesthetic change is found in its front end, and this change does not go unnoticed. The more elongated and lowered air intake not only adds a distinctive touch but also improves aerodynamics by reducing air resistance and facilitating better cooling. This redesign is accompanied by two side canards that generate aerodynamic vortices over the front wheels, further increasing the vehicle’s efficiency.
The new look is not only functional, as it pays homage to the famous “G-Nose” of the original 1971 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG, which was used for homologation in Group 4 competition and to gain speed. In addition, the Z NISMO features other improvements, such as a longer and taller rear spoiler that extends over the wheel arches, reshaped bumpers for better air cutting, taking inspiration from the GT-R NISMO, a new diffuser, and a more aerodynamic lower skirt kit with a distinctive red touch, following the tradition of contemporary NISMO models.
The interior of the Z NISMO masterfully balances sportiness and elegance. While the leather and Alcantara upholstered Recaro seats, with their red areas and stitching, immediately catch the eye, the rest of the cabin remains true to understated style. Among the highlights is a sporty steering wheel that combines leather and Alcantara, with red stitching and a Rally-style top stripe that adds a distinctive touch. Two anodized red buttons for the ignition and drive mode selector reinforce the sporty feel. New features for this year include support for Amazon Alexa, while the rest of the equipment remains unchanged. This means drivers will enjoy metallic pedals, a Bose audio system with eight speakers, power seats (unheated), up to seven driving assists (ADAS), Full LED lighting, connected services, and more. What really matters is under the hood and in the chassis. The 3.0 Twin Turbo V6 engine has seen an increase of 20 horsepower totaling 420 Horsepower and 384 lb-ft. In addition to the power upgrade, work has been done on the electronic engine management, a sport exhaust line has been incorporated and a new oil cooling system developed by NISMO. The front brakes are larger than those of the Performance version, with red calipers, while the pads have also been upgraded for optimum performance. The steering is electrically assisted, with NISMO-specific calibration, for more precise handling, and improvements have been made to the structural rigidity of the chassis, including subframe reinforcements and a NISMO-calibrated suspension with special stabilizer bars, stiffer coil overs, larger shock absorbers and Dunlop Sport MAXX GT600 tires, similar to those used on the GT-R, for exceptional performance on the road.
These advances are complemented by features already incorporated, such as the Launch Control system, mechanical limited-slip rear differential (LSD), and several driving mode options. In addition, the vehicle features improvements in heat management, incorporates steering wheel paddle shifters, and offers a new driving mode called Sport+ in addition.
