Nelly Colon Earns The Title of Certified Master Technician For Nissan

Great news is happening at a Nissan dealership located outside of Boston, home to a technician that not only replaces auto parts but a technician that has changed the perception of the automotive industry. Nelly Colon has received the grand title of Certified Master Technician from Nissan. All this occurred during Nelly’s building up to the top, Nelly managed to be a great inspiration for women interested in the automotive technology field which is mostly dominated by men. Nissan employs the best technician possible to work as technicians at the company, who are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing cars and trucks. Usually, the technicians work in the service department located in a vehicle dealership, just as they work in an independent repair shop and specialized collision operations centers.   

Nelly joined Nissan nearly a decade ago at their dealerships located throughout New England. Nelly went out of her way to make sure customers experience a great deal by demonstrating personal growth and continual learning. Nelly belongs to a small group of Nissan Certified Master Technicians in the United States. Nelly successfully achieved several certifications specializing in Diesel vehicles, Electric Vehicles, and Nissan Supercars such as the Nissan GT-R. Equipped with the knowledge and skills to be able to disassemble an engine, rebuild a transmission, and troubleshoot electrical problems and all the obstacles that come her way.  

Nelly completed her studies at the Universal Technical Institute in Norwood, Massachusetts. During Nelly’s studies she was hesitant to start a career in a field dominated by men. Nelly’s dedication to her work and accomplishments during her career are slowly coming to represent her as a Nissan technician and inspire those around her. In her current position, Nelly works alongside a team of women at Route 9 Nissan. In addition to his work  Nelly’s automotive repair skills have served her well as she takes on projects at home such as doing wiring, rebuilding stairs, and many more everyday activities due to her vast experience she has gained the ability to quickly learn how to work on things. “If I can take apart a motor, I can probably change a light fixture in the house. You only get one chance to do what you love, so I want to make what I do count,” says Nelly, reflecting on her ability to quickly learn how to work on things.
