Nissan is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Wareing as the new vice president of Purchasing for the Americas. Wareing joins the company with more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and an outstanding track record in purchasing and supply management worldwide. As the leader of Nissan’s Americas Purchasing Organization, Wareing is responsible for leading and developing purchasing and supply strategies for the company’s operations in North America, South America, and Central America. In addition, Wareing will work closely with other company leaders to improve Nissan’s supply chain efficiency, product quality, and overall profitability.
This appointment comes at a pivotal time for Nissan, as the company is in the midst of a major transformation and global reorganization to improve profitability and long-term sustainability. In particular, the company just recently announced plans to launch 23 new electric models by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. This is why purchasing and supply management are such key parts of the company’s strategy. Andrew Wareing joined Nissan from the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where worked as an associate director in the automotive sector. Before that, Wareing spent more than two decades in various purchasing and supply positions at Jaguar Land Rover and Ford Motor Company in Europe and Asia.
“I am excited to join Nissan at this exciting time of change and growth. I look forward to working with the purchasing and supply team to improve the efficiency and profitability of the supply chain while focusing on quality and sustainability,” announced Wareing, in a statement on his appointment.
Wareing’s appointment is yet another example of Nissan’s focus on attracting global talent with valuable experience and skills to lead the company’s transformation. In recent years, the company made significant changes to its leadership structure and has appointed leaders with experience in different sectors and markets to drive the company’s transformation. Andrew Wareing’s new role as vice president of Procurement for the Americas is a clear signal that Nissan is committed to improving its efficiency and profitability. Wareing’s experience and leadership will be a valuable enhancement to the company and an important step toward achieving Nissan’s strategic goals. Throughout Wareing’s career at Nissan, he had managed to hold several important positions. He began his career working as a company buyer at Nissan Motor Manufacturing’s plant in Sunderland, UK. Wareing will start working as Vice President of Purchasing as of May 1 of this year. Want to find out more about Nissan’s plans?
