The iconic R35 generation of the Nissan GT-R introduces two new limited-production special editions. The T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition honor the performance car that has been a mainstay of the Nissan portfolio since its 2007 launch, building on the enhancements already revealed for the 2024 GT-R. October will mark the end of GT-R production for the North American market, which has thrilled fans and driven enthusiasts for more than 17 years. Since its release, the R35 GT-R has attracted a new generation of American car enthusiasts, outperformed supercars in terms of performance and excitement, and raised the bar for far more expensive sports cars on the racetrack.
The T-spec Takumi Edition and Skyline Edition of the 2024 Nissan GT-R limited editions will have starting MSRPs of $151,090 and $131,090, respectively. This summer, both versions should be available at a few Nissan dealers in the United States. There will be fewer than 200 units available, making this a unique and rare departure from the North American market. The GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition is a hand-assembled GT-R VR38DETT engine that pays homage to the master craftsmen of Takumi. A gold VIN plate will be located in the engine bay, and red-etched text will be seen on the engine badge recognizing the Takumi. When assembling the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6, the red engine emblem denotes a higher level of attention to exact engine tolerances and component balancing.
The T-spec Takumi Edition also dazzles from every angle thanks to its Midnight Purple paint job, which pays homage to some of the most recognizable special editions from the Skyline/GT-R line.Additionally done in the rare Mori Green is the interior trim. Similar to the standard 2024 GT-R T-spec, the Takumi Edition also gets a number of technical upgrades, such as larger front fenders, NISMO-tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control, gold-painted RAYS® 20-inch forged wheels, and GT-R NISMO carbon-ceramic brakes.
The GT-R Skyline Edition, which pays homage to the immense beauty seen in Japanese skylines, introduces the recognizable name from abroad to the United States. It is based on the GT-R Premium and has a gorgeous new Sora Blue inside color scheme in addition to Bayside Blue paint. Bayside Blue, which had been a mainstay of the car’s color scheme until the R34-generation GT-R, was “retired” then reintroduced in 2019 for the 50th anniversary edition model. Even while the R35 GT-R leaves a lasting history, Nissan is currently completely preoccupied with the next exciting phase of performance innovation and the future.
